For this project we had to create an Abortion campaign poster either for or against abortion. I chose ‘pro-life’ and chose to focus on emotion rather than the facts. The picture shows a pregnant woman’s silhouette with the womb area ripped out, signifying the child has been torn out of her leaving a painful emptiness. The female is also facing away from the type not wanting to deal with the situation. This could relate to females in the situation where they have to make a decision. Although the picture is only a silhouette and paper, the poster emits a strong image. Drips of blood were removed after the poster proved too controversial. The initial reason was to enhance the poster and make it more hard hitting. I did go for the shock factor in this poster, as it is a biased poster, wanting to make a strong point. Although I really liked this piece because of its simplicity, yet strong message, i struggled tremendously on the title type and I feel I failed on this part despite that it still remains effective.
